Daylight Saving Time 2026 and 2027

Two-thirds of the world never touches its clocks. The third that does, does it on different weekends — which is why the gap between London and New York is five hours for most of the year, four for three weeks in March, and six for one week in autumn.

Below are the exact dates for every country that still changes its clocks. Every city on Timetate shows its own next change, and the meeting planner accounts for these shifts automatically.

When do the clocks change in 2026 and 2027?

• EU and UK — clocks go back on 25 October 2026 (01:00 UTC: 02:00 in the UK, 03:00 in most of the EU). In 2027 they go forward on 28 March 2027 and back on 31 October 2027.
• United States and Canada — clocks go back on 1 November 2026 at 02:00 local time. In 2027 they go forward on 14 March 2027 and back on 7 November 2027.

Australia is not one answer: Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not observe DST at all. Neither does most of Mexico, nor Arizona and Hawaii.

Countries with variable dates

Some countries set their dates year by year, usually around Ramadan. Do not plan around these more than a few months ahead.

• Morocco and Western Sahara — permanently on UTC+1, but suspend it for Ramadan and resume afterwards, roughly 11 days earlier each year.
• Egypt — reinstated DST in 2023: from 00:00 on the last Friday of April to 24:00 on the last Thursday of October, which is why the tables show the change on the Friday.
• Palestine and Lebanon — dates have shifted at short notice in recent years.

Countries that stopped changing their clocks

And the EU? The European Commission proposed ending seasonal clock changes in 2018, and Parliament voted for it in 2019. The Council never reached a qualified majority, no timeline has been set, and the proposal has sat unresolved ever since. Europe still changes its clocks.

Do the clocks go forward or back in October?

Back. The EU and UK go back one hour on Sunday 25 October 2026, at 01:00 UTC — that is 02:00 in the UK and 03:00 in most of the EU. The US and Canada follow a week later, on 1 November at 02:00 local time.

Why do the US and Europe change on different dates?

The EU changes on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October. The US uses the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, so the usual time difference is one hour off for three weeks each spring and one week each autumn.

Which US states do not change their clocks?

Hawaii and most of Arizona, plus Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Is daylight saving time being abolished?

Not in any confirmed way. The European Commission proposed ending seasonal clock changes in 2018 and Parliament voted for it in 2019, but the Council never reached a qualified majority and no timeline has been set. Individual countries continue to drop it; Paraguay was the most recent, in 2024.
